Introduction

In an age when we are deluged with information, why another blog? Well, as someone who has worked in the BI/DWH industry I know how:

(1) Rapid vendor consolidation is changing the landscape dramatically and it's hard to keep up.
(2) Access to neutral/3rd party views on BI are hard to come by.

Don't get me wrong, there are some great BI blogs out there. But one thing I've found is that they are either sponsored or paid for by vendors, or are run by current employees, so there's an obvious bias.

If you want to check out some BI blogs I like to read here are some recommendations:

Oracle BI
http://oraclebi.blogspot.com/
Managed by three current ORCL employees. Some interesting stuff here on ORCL BI EE (the old Siebel Analytics).

Microsoft
http://adriandownes.blogspot.com/
Adrian is a MSFT employee and posts focus on Performance Point. MSFT will only grow in the BI presence so this is one to watch.

http://sqljunkies.com/WebLog/tpagel/default.aspx
Thomas Pagel's page. Again focused on MSFT.

So the primary goal of this blog will be to stay independent, neutral and free of vendor sponsorship!
